President’s Perspective
Faithful Stewards of Our Church Home
When you arrive for worship, you may not think about the care and effort that goes into maintaining our church facility and grounds. Behind the scenes, our Trustees faithfully oversee the upkeep of church property, and we owe these men and women our sincere thanks for keeping everything in excellent condition.
Over the past year, this dedicated team completed 64 individual projects, along with countless ongoing responsibilities. Their work includes lawn and landscape care, pest control, organizing seasonal workdays, snow removal/salting, HVAC servicing, fire extinguisher inspections, municipal water backflow testing, daily custodial services, managing multiple service contracts and property insurance, and special projects. Each fiscal year they manage a budget of between $100-250K.
So far, this winter has brought significant challenges as the Trustees work diligently to keep our parking lot and sidewalks safe for driving and walking. The Trustees are always looking for additional men and women willing to lend a hand with projects throughout the year. If you are interested in serving in this important role, they would warmly welcome your help.
Special thanks to Mike Debowski, Paul Hayes, Linda Kroeger, Ben Meyer, Jim Oelschlager, and Deborah Sterba for serving. You can contact Mike Debowski, head trustee, at mike.j.debowski@gmail.com or 724-630-0977.
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10
In Christ,
Bob Schmidt
