Each service at Zion Lutheran Church (normally the first of our two Sunday services) is streamed LIVE on our YouTube channel. These streams are for Sunday’s, Wednesday’s, Lenten, Advent, and special services. The entire service is streamed from beginning-to-end. Weddings and Funerals can also be streamed, if requested in advance.
This audio-only file includes all the readings from scripture, along with the sermon — and when available, the announcements, adult choir, men’s choir, and/or bell choir. Also posted along with the audio file is the text for all the scripture readings, and a link to the current bulletin, and our YouTube channel if you prefer to watch the LIVE Stream.
If you're not a college student in the 'Burgh, you might not know that our church body has a vibrant Lutheran Student Fellowship (LSF) in the Pittsburgh university community! The LSF ministry is based at First Trinity Lutheran located in the heart of the Oakland campuses of Pitt, CMU, Chatham, and Carlow. Campus Pastor Eric Andrae engages students who want to learn more about the Lutheran faith and experience how Scripture and the Divine Service connect us to Christ, to each other, and to the Church of the ages. Through Bible studies, weekly meals, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for international students, fellowship activities and more, Pastor Andrae engages with students to grow in faith during the vitally important college years.
If you'd like to join the group, or learn more about becoming a supporter, visit LSFpgh.com
Download/view the latest bulletin. It’s filled with our hymns, the order of service, all the readings from scripture, prayer requests for family & friends, service participants, communion statement, about our worship, the schedule of events for this coming weeks, along with announcements, news updates, happenings, and more!
The Zion Soup Club is a way to connect people in our church and preschool, while also simplifying meal schedules for all involved. Everyone who signs up for the soup club will be assigned to groups of 4-5 households. Each week, one family will be responsible for making soup for everyone in their group. The other families will simply need to pick up their soup that week.
If you sign up, please commit to at least two cycles of the soup club (cooking two times).

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Zion,
Once again we begin a new church year. As we move through the season of Advent, we prepare for the celebration of the birth of Christ, our Savior. It is a joyful season, when we focus on giving to others because we have been given so much, including the forgiveness of sins and salvation.
It is the tradition of Zion to take a collection for Christmas gifts for the Pastor and Staff to show our appreciation for their efforts throughout the year. Enclosed are three envelopes in which you may contribute a free will offering toward their Christmas gifts.
In the envelope marked Pastor insert either cash or a check made out to Pastor Edward Grimenstein.
In the envelope marked Deaconess insert either cash or a check made out to Joanna Lee.
In the envelope marked Staff, please insert cash only. Monies collected will be distributed between six staff members: Susie Bishop (Office Admin), Jim Oelschlager (Custodian), John Migyanko (Treasurer), Mark Killinger (Music Director), Sandra Quinlan (Lead Organist), and Doug Krantz (Asst. The Eager Conversationalist/Spiritual Conversation Curve Workshops
Drawing on Barna Group data contained in the 2018 monograph Spiritual Conversations in the Digital Age, Lutheran Hour Ministries is offering two workshops: the first, Eager Conversationalists, examines spiritual conversations. It offers insights to help us become more intentional-more eager-to engage in spiritual conversations with others. The second, The Spiritual Conversation Curve, offers help in getting past conversational hurdles. This is possible when we focus on someone’s “spiritual posture,” so as not to impose a conversation that’s forced or ill-timed.

The Eager Conversationalist/Spiritual Conversation Curve Workshops
Technology and rapid cultural shifts, including the impact of social media, have redefined the ways we communicate and have altered the face of evangelism. Spiritual Conversations in the Digital Age focuses on this shifting definition of evangelism and the perceptions of faith sharing from both sides of the conversation: the sharer and the hearer. Through this research, church leaders can coach Christians to be effective in sharing the unchanging Good News in the digital age.

In the Psalms God speaks to us, His people. God speaks to us about many different topics in the Psalms like: His existence, the Messiah, forgiveness, doubt, thanksgiving and many more! Join us each Wednesday for worship at 2:00 p.m. followed by a 30 min. Bible Study hosted by Pastor Grimenstein (starting at 2:30 p.m.) as we study Psalm 2 … About the Coming Messiah. God truly is speaking to us, come and hear what He is saying!
2 Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
4 He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
5 Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6 “As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”
