Ash Wednesday
On Ash Wednesday, I had the opportunity to organize special services for our Childcare and Afterschool Programs, designed in language that was accessible for our students.
It was a great joy to watch them learn why we receive ashes on our foreheads and why the Church enters this season of Lent. Throughout the day, you could still see traces of ashes on their hands from gently touching their foreheads, a small but powerful reminder of what they had heard.
Even as we confess that we are sinners, our students were reminded of the greater truth: Christ died for us. What a blessing to proclaim that promise in ways they could understand and carry with them beyond the service.

Thank You For Your Support
I am thankful for you, my Zion family, and the ways you continue to invest in me. Your encouragement, your prayers, and your steady support create space for me to serve with focus. Thank you for continuing to support me and pray for me throughout this long journey of schooling. Even back during my undergraduate years, you were already encouraging me, and you have never stopped. You continue to walk with me as I grow into pastoral ministry, and that presence means more than I can say. I am deeply grateful to know that I am not in this alone.
What I get to do in ministry is only possible because you stand beside me. You make room for me to study, to serve, to grow, and to pour into the people God places in front of me. Your generosity does more than meet a financial need, it creates opportunity. It allows me to keep learning, to be formed, and to step more fully into the work God is preparing me for. Thank you for investing in me, for valuing my educational career, and for continuing to be part of it in such meaningful ways.
Food Bank Sunday - May 10th
The May collection for the Bridgeville Area Food Bank is Sunday, May 10th. The “items of the month” are condiments, although any non-perishable food items are gladly accepted. Items may be placed in the wicker bin in the narthex near the coat rack.
During the April 18th distribution, the BAFB assisted 94 local families which included 34 children, 68 adults and 70 of the elderly. Your generosity makes this possible … thank you!

SS Mission
On March 29th, we finished our SS fundraising for "Praise Him Africa". From October last year and ending March 29, the children collected $150.88! Each $5.00 collected buys one song book. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this Mission to put the Gospel in the hands of God’s children!
Summer Sunday School
Our Summer Sunday School program will start the week following our end of year party -- June 7 -- and run through August 30. This year's program is "3 in 1: Discovering Our Triune God" from Concordia. The summer program is geared mainly for the PreK-K and grades 1-3 children, but older children are welcome to attend and help with the younger children, or they are encouraged to attend the Pastor's adult Bible study.
