Clarity and Care for Children with Gender Confusion
Clarity and Care for Children with Gender Confusion
Gender issues are everywhere in this post-Christian culture, creating confusion and chaos. My colleagues and I have the privilege and obligation of preparing the next generation of teachers to enter both Lutheran and public schools. Christian day school administrators, teachers and pastors are pleading for resources they can use with confidence. Through the years I have found much information on gender dysphoria, or the distress caused by misalignment of body and mind. This resource provides clarity in caring for children.
An article for LCMS Family Ministry written by Dr. Brad Alles, Associate Professor of Education, Concordia University Wisconsin, provides clear information on gender dysphoria and confusion, as well as guidance for parents caring for children who struggle with it.

The First Pittsburgh Pro-Life March is a joyful, prayerful, and hope-filled gathering of pro-lifers from across our city and region. For the first time, we are coming together publicly to unite the Pittsburgh pro-life community, strengthen one another, and boldly proclaim that the culture of life is alive here.
As we launch this inaugural march, we want to show our city that Pittsburgh is proudly pro-life—and that we stand for the protection and dignity of every human life. Our presence serves as a counter-witness to the pro-abortion initiatives in our community, including Planned Parenthood, local abortion vendors, and the University of Pittsburgh’s unethical fetal experimentation.
We intentionally chose to march through the heart of Oakland for this historic first year. By walking through the university area, we hope to plant seeds in the hearts of students and the broader community, showing them that compassion, truth, and the defense of life have a strong and joyful presence in Pittsburgh. We pray that the Lord uses this first march and rally to convert hearts, transform minds, and bring renewal to our city.
But the First Pittsburgh Pro-Life March is more than a demonstration. It is a celebration of life—every life, at every stage. We envision a Pittsburgh where every human being is cherished, protected, and welcomed.

President’s Perspective
Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
This is a wonderful way to begin April as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I encourage everyone to attend our Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter services as we reflect on His sacrifice and rejoice in His victory over the grave.
Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. John 11:25–26
Mark your calendar for our first Voters Meeting of 2026, which will be held on April 26 between services. This meeting will provide an informational update to the congregation on the initiatives and activities of our Boards and Committees.
Many exciting things are happening at Zion, and this is a great opportunity to hear from our leaders and ask questions.
Congregational President,
Bob Schmidt
