It was truly an “Epic Australian Adventure” Vacation Bible School at Zion where kids learned how Jesus calls, leads, teaches, saves, and sends us to share the Good News with others through five exciting Old & New Testament stories that trace God’s epic plan of salvation. Jesus is our Savior and faithful guide, who shows us the right way to go and guides us on the path of truth that leads to eternal life.

Another Successful VBS at Zion!
What a joy-filled week we had at Vacation Bible School! More than 80 kids joined us for Jesus-focused fun each day. All of our students, parents and volunteers were blessed by the VBS experience!
This year’s VBS featured: Amazing animals. Lush landscapes. Stunning sea life. Wondrous wilderness. Our God has given us so much to see and explore! But of all the gifts God has given to us, the most marvelous is His Son, our Savior, Jesus. As we navigate life, we sometimes meet challenges and lose our way. But Jesus, who is “the way, and the truth, and the life” (John 14:6), is always there to help get us back on the right path. At Epic Australian Adventure VBS, kids will learn five inspiring Bible stories that reveal how Jesus calls, leads, teaches, saves, and sends us.

On Saturday, June 28th, Pastor Grimenstein and Deaconess Joanna Lee led a Prayer Lunch at Zion for Shepherd’s Canyon, a retreat ministry. With locations in Arizona and Missouri, Shepherd’s Canyon serves pastors, missionaries, chaplains, DCEs, and other full-time ministry workers dealing with stress, conflict, burnout, depression and grief. Zion members came together to learn more about this vital ministry and pray for all those burdened by the cares of this sinful world.

Bridgeville Area Food Bank
The July collection for the Bridgeville Area Food Bank is Sunday, July 13th.
The “item of the month” for July is COOKIES.
The August collection for the Food Bank is Sunday, August 10h.
The “item of the month” is CRACKERS.
Items may be placed in the wicker bin in the narthex near the coat rack.
Thank you for supporting this vital community service!
At the June distribution, 104 families were assisted which included 36 children, 67 adults and 85 of the elderly.

Today the kids were able to shine the light of Jesus with these fun, paintable suncatchers! A perfect reminder of His saving love, this hands-on craft allowed our VBS kids to create colorful designs that reflect His light.
In day three’s lesson Jesus teaches us the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)
We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

Sunday School News
End of Year Party . . . We are finished our 2024-2025 Sunday School year with a party on June 1 complete with treats, fun, Bible stories, and a goody bag full of fun things.
Thank you to all our children, parents, teachers and subs for another great year of learning! Godspeed to the Wilson family, who moved to Dallas at the end of June. Nell was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for many years and we are so grateful for her service to our children!
Summer Sunday School started Sunday, June 8. We are using "Serving with Joy" from Concordia. The summer program is geared mainly for children in PreK-K and grades 1-3. Older children are welcome to attend and help with the younger children, or are encouraged to attend Pastor's adult/teen Bible study. We will not have our infant/toddler Sunday School class during the summer . . . expect it to return in the fall, when regular Sunday School begins.
