Bio: Deaconess Raquel A. Rojas is the Deaconess of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in The Bronx, New York, a parish of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) where “God’s People Pray.” She is a member of the Concordia Deaconess Conference and serves on its Executive Committee, specializing in membership.   She is serving her second term on the Board of Directors of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Atlantic District. Deaconess Rojas is a published author in a book of devotions for women entitled Words of Peace and Protection, published by Concordia Publishing House, having also written devotional pieces for Concordia College New York, the LCMS Atlantic District, and other organizations. Having served in other capacities previously, Deaconess Rojas currently serves as President of The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League Atlantic District since May 2022.  Deaconess Rojas received a Master of Arts in Deaconess Studies from Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne, Indiana) and received her clinical pastoral education (ACPE) at Calvary Hospital in The Bronx, New York.

Zion Lutheran Church
The heart and soul of our worship is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe God comes to us in worship to forgive our sins, strengthen our faith, and equip us for the challenges and opportunities for the week ahead. Our worship times are 8:00 and 10:30 on Sunday mornings with a Bible Study for adults and Sunday School for children of all ages at 9:30. The Lord’s Supper is celebrated at both services every week. Sunday morning worship is the highlight of the week at Zion Lutheran Church!!! We hope you will be able to join us! Each Wednesday this year (2014), we also have a 7:00 p.m. service. This service is shorter than our weekend service, in order to accommodate families with young children.
