Dennis L. Finney, 62, of Houston, died Friday, February 21, 2025.
He was born August 6, 1962, in Anchorage, Alaska, a son of Sidney and Esther Johnson Finney. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Millright. Dennis was a faithful member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Bridgeville. He enjoyed landscaping and spending time with his family. Surviving are his mother, Esther Johnson Finney; his sons, Joshua (Kandie) Finney, Jacob Finney; daughter, Cheyanne Finney; his wife, Melanie Finney; sisters, Denise (Robert) DeBoe, Annette (Bob) Anderson, and sister, Jenny (Dennis Gibbons) Carpenter; his granddaughter, Kailynn, and several nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Sidney L. Finney. Friends will be received Friday February 28th from 3-6 p.m., a service will take place at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Grimenstein of Zion Lutheran Church officiating at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Florence Carol (Vaglia) Boehme, 89, of Bethel Park, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, March 9, 2025. On May 16, 2018, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, George Christian Boehme. Loving mother of Kevin(Susan) Boehme, Jeffrey(Daneen) Boehme and Tracey(John) Coyle, Jr. She was a cherished Grammy to Ben(Lauren) Boehme, Sarah(Jeffrey) Chastel, Nicholas(Amanda) Coyle, Rebecca(Michael) Bittel, David Boehme, Christa(Dallas) Blayney, Kaylee Boehme, Jacob(Ashlee) Boehme, Victoria Boehme and Daniel Boehme. She was a cherished great Grammy to Aiden, Carson, Grayson and Heather. Sister to the late Jean Bracken, the late James(Genieve) Vaglia, the late David(surviving his wife, Kay) Vaglia and the late Gary(surviving his wife, Monica) Tener. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Florence was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bridgeville. Florence was a warm and welcoming person. She always had a beautiful smile, a loving personality and nurturing nature. She loved flowers, decorating her home for holidays, and she was a great cook and baker. She also loved her many collections, such as bells, angels, cat statues, stuffed animals, wind chimes and magnets from her many travels with George. She was devoted to her husband and family. Family and friends will be received on Monday, March 17th from 5-8 PM at Paul Henney Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 5570 Library Rd., Bethel Park. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 18th,10 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Bridgeville.(Everyone Please Meet At Church) Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Age 83, of Kennedy Township, formerly of Chicago, IL. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Beloved husband of 56 years to Karen (Libricz) Bauer. Dear Father of Michael (Vanessa) Bauer and Dawn (George) Geregach. Brother of Richard (Pat) Bauer and the late Kenneth Bauer. Born and raised in Chicago, Carl and Karen raised their family in Wheaton, IL, before retiring to Kennedy Township, PA, where Carl enjoyed several years of working as an Usher at Pittsburgh Pirates Games. An avid Chicago Bears and White Sox fan, Carl was always watching sports, especially his grandkids' games. His favorite pastime was watching his grandkids excel at the things they loved most.
Funeral Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church 3197 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA 15017 at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Internment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville, PA 15017, at 2:00 p.m.

Gloria Godfrey, 88, of Cecil, died Sunday, June 29, 2025, in St. Clair Health. She was born January 5, 1937, in Cecil, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Storm Scanny. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bridgeville. Gloria enjoyed word puzzle books, watching her grand and great-grandchildren play sports, going shopping and out to lunch, and cooking. Surviving are son, Richard (Susan) Godfrey of North Strabane; daughter, Tina (Tom McGinnis) Godfrey of Cecil; and son, Jerry Godfrey of Cecil; grandchildren, Matthew (Rachel) Godfrey of Fort Smith, Ark., Nicholas (Ann) Godfrey of Cecil Township, Evan (Alicia) Godfrey of North Strabane and Ian Godfrey of Cecil; along with great- grandchildren, Payton, Jackson, Bailey, Kensington, Henry, Ford and Olivia Godfrey; and sister, Gladys Kolljeski. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Godfrey, Sr. in 2020; sisters, Dolores Preaux and Joan Kovach; and her daughter-in-law, Anastasia Godfrey.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, in the Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, PA 15321, where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3, with Pastor Edward Grimenstein officiating. Mary Louise Hutula, née Engel, 81, of McMurray, PA, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025. Born on May 26, 1944, in Davenport, IA, to John Francis Engel and Edna Henrietta Thomsen, Mary lived a vibrant life defined by compassion, faith, family, and community service. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary graduated from L’Anse High School in 1962, where she shone as a cheerleader and was actively involved in numerous clubs, showcasing her spirited nature. She earned a nursing degree from Northern Michigan University in 1964, pursuing her passion for helping others. That same year, she married her high school sweetheart, David N. Hutula, in L’Anse, MI, and together they shared 61 years of marriage, building a legacy of love and togetherness. In 1970, Mary and David moved to the Pittsburgh area, where they established deep roots.
A devoted mother, Mary is survived by her two sons, Scott Hutula (wife Joanna) of Concord, NC, and Craig Hutula (wife Gretchen) of Tolland, CT. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Karina Hutula of Augusta, GA, Mitchell Hutula of Charlotte, NC, and Grace Hutula of Tolland, CT. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Engel of Greenville, MI (survived by his wife, Kathy), and Artie Engel of L’Anse, MI.
Mary’s dedication to her community was profound. As a skilled nurse, she served with care at Baraga County Memorial Hospital in L’Anse, MI, Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI, and St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Her leadership shone as president of the Peters Township PTA around 1975, championing education, and as president of the Giant Oaks Garden Club for multiple years, where she nurtured her love for gardening. In 1974, she co-founded the Pacers Track Club and coached for many years, inspiring young athletes. An avid tennis player, she brought her competitive spirit to local USTA teams in the South Hills area, forming lasting friendships. Mary’s faith was a cornerstone of her life; she was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church, where she led the altar guild and acolytes, serving with devotion and grace. She found great joy spending time at the family cabin on Big Lake in Covington, MI, where she cherished moments of peace and connection with loved ones. Her kindness, warmth, and enduring spirit left a lasting impact on her family, friends, and community.
Family and friends received from 3 to 5 p.m., on Friday, October 31, at the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church in Bridgeville, PA, followed by a light meal. The family extends special thanks to Ridgecrest in McMurray for the exceptional care Mary received over the past year.
