Set Apart to Serve
God gives His church pastors and church workers for the sake of the Gospel. Pastors proclaim Christ and administer the Sacraments, means through which people receive Christ’s saving work. Church workers assist the pastoral office in service to the Word, witnessing to Christ daily in various roles. Christ’s church will continue until He returns, and that church will continue to need workers.

Each service at Zion Lutheran Church (normally the first of our two services) is streamed LIVE on our YouTube channel. This includes Sunday’s, Wednesday’s, Lenten, Advent and special services. The entire service is streamed from beginning-to-end. Weddings and Funerals can also be streamed, if requested in advance.
This audio-only file includes all the readings from scripture, along with the sermon — and when available, the announcements, adult choir, men’s choir, and/or bell choir. Also posted along with the audio file is the text for all the scripture readings, and a link to the current bulletin, and our YouTube channel if you prefer to watch the LIVE Stream.
Tomorrow (Sunday May 19, 2024) is Pentecost when we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit.
It is also the day of Confirmation, when we will welcome three young people -- Callista Chilcott, Claire Schrag, and Emily Trentini -- as communicant members of Zion. Join us in the Fellowship Hall at 9:15 a.m. for the Confirmand Public Questioning to encourage and support these young women as they take this important step. A cake reception will follow the questioning. The Rite of Confirmation will take place during the 10:30 a.m. service.
Download/view the latest bulletin. It’s filled with our hymns, the order of service, all the readings from scripture, prayer requests for family & friends, service participants, communion statement, about our worship, the schedule of events for this coming weeks, along with announcements, news updates, happenings, and more!

Voters approved the Call Committee's recommendation to call Joanna Lee for the role of Deaconess at Zion. Joanna graduates from Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne, IN) in August. Lord willing, she will arrive at Zion sometime in August or September! Pastor and the elders have already begun assisting the Lee family with the beginning stages of the relocation process. Please include them in your prayers -- that the Lord would bless Joanna, her husband Richard and their children during this transition, and use them mightily in the work of His Kingdom at Zion!

Welcome to our Newest Members
On Sunday, March 24th at the 8 am service, Allan Stewart and Rick Valentino became members of our church family. If you haven’t had an opportunity to meet them yet, be sure to welcome them to our fellowship!
Allan Stewart was baptized and confirmed at Zion as a child. Later he married his sweetheart, Susan, here. After Susan's passing several months ago, Allan wanted to return to the church that had meant so much to him in his youth. He lives in McDonald, and two of his three sons also live in the Pittsburgh area. Allan worked for many years as an industrial mechanic. He enjoyed motorcycle riding as a hobby, having ridden across country on several occasions.
