But did you know that in 2014 we've been having Wednesday evening services all year? Consider joining us this Wednesday or any Wednesday for a 35 min. service that features confession, absolution, fellowship, prayer and a message/sermon by Pastor Duncan McLellan.

Zion’s Third Annual Harvestfest is coming up on Saturday, October 25th, from 5-8pm. Just like the previous years, this year’s Harvestfest will be packed full of things for you and your family! From the huge bonfire to hayrides, from hot dogs to s’mores, from games to fellowship, there’s something for everyone (including your friends). And it’s FREE! 

The fun starts at 5; the hayrides stop at 8, but the bonfire will stay lit as late as you stay.

The men of Zion Lutheran Church and their male friends and relatives (of all ages) will be returning to Camp Pioneer in Angola, NY -- a 3 hr. drive from Zion's parking lot. Youth Event - Street Hockey!

Yes, STREET HOCKEY. Mark your calendar for September 17th. We’ll be playing street hockey BEFORE the Midweek Service of Prayer and Preaching. We will take over the parking lot for some fun and games as we play STREET HOCKEY. (7-12th Graders, this is for you, but college students and young-at-heart older adults are welcome to play too!) The fun starts at 6:00. No skates, just shoes.

Zion's 6th Annual Oktoberfest!
Our concession stand sales this year will feature various German-style food and beverages. Examples include:brats, pretzels, German potato salad, pierogies, desserts, root beer, etc.

We need volunteers to help manage each concession
All food purchases and preparation of individual item/s. Committee will reimburse expenses, if individuals prefer not to donate. Responsible for manning the concession or assigning crew(s) – we have a sign-up sheet in the narthex in an attempt to help you with filling some spots.

Festival ticket collection for record keeping.
All serving supplies: to-go containers, plates, napkins, silverware, glasses, condiments, etc.. The committee will have tables and signs set up and available for your Stands. Identify if you need power cords/how many, so that the committee can prepare those for you.

Please plan to have your food prepared and set up at the church by 3:00 p.m. in order to avoid the last minute rush!

8th Annual Chili Cook-Off - Sept. 21st
The Rotary Club of Bridgeville-South Fayette will hold its 8th annual Chili Cook-Off competition fundraiser on Sunday, September 21st, 2014 from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Fairview Park in South Fayette Township. 

As reigning champs of our category, Zion will return with it's award-wining Dakota Chili. Join us and get upclose and personal with 800 plus fellow chili fans. Chili fans come from all over the community to compete and enjoy some of the areas best chili recipes. Over 24 teams regularly compete in this fall festival, as well as dozens of vendors and sponsors. 

  
100% of the net proceeds from our fundraising events go directly to support charitable or public improvement services in this area.
