In the Spotlight: Parable of the Pumpkin
To convey the Gospel message in a visual way and keeping the fall season, we use two carved pumpkins. The pump-kins presented to the children are side by side, one smiling with a candle lit inside, representing life with Jesus, and the other frowning and dark inside, representing life without Jesus
I tell the children that Jesus is the Light of the World, and that He can provide a light to guide their lives if they love Him with their whole heart.
“For God, who said, “Let light shine out of dark-ness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6.
The children all pay close attention as the lesson is being taught.
