Pastor's Message from the Wednesday Bulletin
This evening, our Midweek Lenten theme of going Back to Basics by looking at Biblical texts that speak about the suffering of Jesus continues. We are going to take a look at the end of 2 Corinthians 5 and the first two verses of 2 Corinthians 6. But before we do that, I’ve got a couple of questions to ask that will help get you ready for this evening’s message.
First, if someone came up to you and said, “I hear you talking a lot about the death of Jesus on the cross for my sins. What does that mean? How does the blood of Jesus in any way deal with the sin problem I have?” how would you respond? And if that same person asked you to describe what changes in your life the death of Jesus brought about, how would you answer them?
But not only are we going to take a look at what the death of Jesus means for our sins and what changes it made in our lives, but we’re also going to take a look at two things the Apostle Paul says we are because of all that Jesus did for us: new creations and ambassadors. Both are gifts with privileges; and both have a very high level of responsibility.
There’s a lot going on in worship this evening! Glad you are here and made the wise decision to make worship, Scripture, fellowship and prayer a priority in your life!
All the best,
