Burn The Mortgage

Dear Member of Zion:

During the last several months, conversations have taken place among the Board of Elders, Budget Committee and Church Council as to how best to position our Church for the future in as timely a fashion as possible. A determination was made to try to retire the current mortgage which was incurred to build the Sunday School/DaSchool addition during the 1990's. The Early Childhood Development Program and Sunday school make good use of our facility and we are blessed to have such a nice building. Our current mortgage balance is approximately $90,000. The Church operational cash flow would greatly benefit if we could retire this mortgage in the next several months. Our Fiscal Year just ended well in the black and the congregation approved a very good budget for the new FY2011-2012 on June 26th. These are difficult economic times for many Americans, butwe hope you all will pull together and support this effort to the best of your ability. Our Church is going to aggressively evangelize and seek to grow as much as possible in the coming years. This is an important first step in turning a page on the past and looking toward a future with a clean slate of sorts.

Enclosed are three envelopes marked"MORTGAGE RETIREMENT CAMPAIGN"and each has YOUR particular CMS/envelope number on it. Please prayerfully consider your best effort and use these envelopes to donate to this Campaign, making your checks out to: "Zion Lutheran Church". Every penny donated in these envelopes will be used to pay off the mortgageso using the envelopes is important. Place them in the collection plate during the months of JulyAugust and September. If you have to mail a donation into the officeplease clearly mark the donation for the Mortgage Retirement Campaign if you do not use these envelopes for some reason. It's not necessary to use all three envelopesyou are being issued three envelopes for your convenience, but, we want to end the Campaign by September 30thso please have your donations in ASAP.

We will report the progresin the NewsletterSunday Bulletinon the Website and via announcements at meetings and in Bible Classetc. Please try to attack this issue with all the efforts you can muster; we can do this as a group if we all give this our best effort!!! Please prayerfully consider this request and act as aggressively as your financial situation will allowPlease view this as a special request (over-and-above your normal level of giving to accomplish a special task for the Church).

May God Bless You in your efforts and our collective efforts as a Congregation! Together we can move mountainsso let's get together to Burn the Mortgage!!!
