Officers:
President: Pastor Duncan McLellan
Treasurer: Mary Lou Neill
Secretary: Marianne & Brent Miller
Rules:
1. The name of the league shall be Zion Lutheran Church Bowling League.
2. The league will begin its bowling schedule on September 2, 2011, and bowl every other Friday evening except on holidays at AMF Bowling in Mt. Lebanon. A full schedule of bowling consists of 18 weeks of league play.
3. Eligible bowlers will be members of Zion, age 18 or older, with the exception of those included from our former league.
4. The officers are the President who presides over the meetings, the Secretary who keeps records, and the Treasurer who collects money and pays the bills. At the end of the season, new officers may be chosen.
5. A non-refundable start-up fee of $15, payable by January 2012, will be collected from each bowler to establish a cushion for paying bills. The cost of bowling will be $12 per person per session. Of that money, $11.25 is paid to AMF and .75¢ remains in the treasury.
6. If a bowler is unable to be present on a given week, he or she is still responsible for the $12 bowling fee. The bowler is encouraged to "roll off' at some time prior to being absent (See "Roll-Off Policy") otherwise his or her team will be penalized a 10% reduction in that bowler's average.
7. If a bowler becomes unable to bowl during the season due to injury or illness, an effort must be made to find a replacement bowler. The league will assist in seeking a replacement bowler before making changes to our contract with AMF. Anyone who simply desires to leave the league will be responsible for the bowling fee for the reminder of the year or of finding a replacement to assume the bowling and financial responsibility.
8. A bowling banquet will be held at the end of the season. Place and dinner choices will be determined by the league members. A bowler who is unable to attend or chooses not to attend the banquet forfeits the cost of dinner. A single member will be allowed to invite a guest by paying for the guest's dinner.
9. Changes to the rules and regulations may be made by a majority vote.
Roll Off Policy:
1. Prior to bowling: Bowlers must notify an AMF employee at the control desk that they are going to roll off. The AMF employee will give you a roll-off score sheet for you to record your scores.
2. Once you tell the AMF employee that you are going to roll off, you MUST turn in a 3 game series. You are not allowed to say you are going to roll off and not turn in your scores, or decide not to use them.
3. Bowlers will be placed on lanes based on availability. Two lanes must be used when rolling off. Please call ahead, and we may be able to reserve a pair of lanes, if we are not too congested. When rolling off, only the bowler(s) rolling off are permitted to bowl on those lanes. If you bring a guest, they are permitted to bowl on another lane closest to you, based on availability.
4. Bowlers will be permitted practice time (1 frame per lane). It is not permissible to bowl NUMEROUS practice balls prior to starting your roll-off. If you want to bowl a practice game prior to rolling off, you MUST inform the AMF employee on duty, and pay for that game before beginning your roll-off. If you bowl more than the allotted practice balls while on roll-off setup, you will be charged.
5. Following practice, your FIRST three games will be used as your roll-off scores. You are not permitted to bowl multiple games and turn in the games of your choice for roll-off scores. Your lanes will shut off after the designated number of roll-off games has been bowled.
6. Upon completion of your games, please notify an AMF employee at the control desk that you have finished. When you turn in your score sheet, the AMF employee will print out a copy of your scores and attach them. The score sheet and the printout will be given to the league secretary. If you would like a copy of your scores, please request them at that time.
7. Any “open” roll-offs that are not used, for any reason, by the end of the season must be paid for by the bowler at your league’s rate, or the league will be charged for those extra games upon completion of their final bowling session.
Thank you for your cooperation. This policy is meant to prevent abuses of the roll-off option that is permitted at AMF Mt. Lebanon Lanes. If you have any questions, please contact the Center Manager (Dan Gallaher 412-854-0600).
