Zion Lutheran Church
Early Childhood Program Jesus said, "Allow the little children to come to me."
Carole Davis, Director The Ministry: Our Early Childhood program is a ministry of the people of Zion Lutheran Church. Zion exists to bring the Good News of God’s love in Jesus Christ to people, young and old alike. Children who participate in our program learn, play and
grow within a Christian environment, in an atmosphere of love, forgiveness and acceptance. Jesus Christ, who is the Head of the Christian Church, said, “Allow little children to come to me.” He took them up in His arms and blessed them. We intend to do the same. Zion Lutheran Church has been ministering to the community by offering a Christ-centered education for children since 1980.
Our Facilities: Academic excellence is provided in
beautiful large bright rooms with child-sized furniture, equipment and restrooms. Indoor and outdoor play areas are available. The lobby is monitored by video cameras providing controlled access.
Small Steps: This twice a week program is offered to children two to three years of age who do not meet the age requirement for the
Preschool class. This is high quality child care in an interactive program where children are encouraged to explore their world in a safe environment. Pre-School: Meeting twice a week the children develop fine motor skills needed for snipping with scissors, using crayons, markers, paints and glue with control, recognition of names, colors, shapes, and numbers, the skill of one to one counting and matching, the ability to follow directions and share in singing, dramatic play, and puppets. Pre-Kindergarten: The pre-kindergarten meets three times a week. The curriculum is preparatory for kindergarten. It includes the development of pre-reading and pre-math skills along with
emergent writing. Math and science skills are explored through games and hands on activities. The curriculum is rich in music, dramatic play and story telling. Our Staff
