Christian Education

Sunday School and Bible Class

The Sunday morning hour of Christian education at Zion is in many ways the "heartbeat" of the congregation. Nearly 70 of Zion's adult members and about 35 children gather.  After the opening songs, the children go to their classes and the adults remain to study the Word of God.

While many churches have a variety of programs to engender growth, Zion has a single program - the study of the Word of God.  When the Gospel of Jesus Christ takes root in the hearts of people, spiritual growth follows. The vitality, life, outreach, and service of God's people depends upon their growing in their knowledge and faith.

The Sunday morning hour of Christian Education also allows an opportunity for Christian fellowship.  Donuts, bagels, coffee and juice are served.

In addition to the Sunday morning Bible Class, both Wednesday evening and Thursday morning Bible Studies are offered.

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.  Colossians 2:7-8.

We are at present studying Distinctive Lutheran Doctrines.  We have considered the following:

1. Objective Justification

2. Predestination

3. The Presence of Christ in the Lord's Supper
